Ingredients

  • 1 lb Asparagus trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 Pie Crust pre-made or homemade
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 4 Eggs beaten
  • 1 cup Gruyere Cheese shredded
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg ground

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Blanch the asparagus in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, and beaten eggs.
  4. Add the shredded Gruyere cheese, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg to the egg mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Place the pie crust in a pie dish and spread the blanched asparagus evenly over the crust.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the asparagus and crust.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the quiche is set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Let the quiche cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
