Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 large Onion
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 cups Buttermilk
  • 1 quart Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions 

  1. 1. Cut the onion into a blooming shape.
  2. 2. Mix flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. 3. Dip the onion in buttermilk, then coat with the flour mixture.
  4. 4. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. 5. Fry the onion until golden brown, about 10 minutes.
  6. 6. Drain on paper towels and serve with dipping sauce.
