Indian Style Basmati Rice Recipe
This is a simple and flavorful Indian style basmati rice recipe.

Main Ingredients
- 1 cup Basmati rice rinsed
- 2 cups Water
- 1 tablespoon Ghee or oil
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon Salt or to taste
Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
In a saucepan, heat the ghee or oil over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and sauté until fragrant.
Add the rinsed rice to the saucepan and sauté for a couple of minutes, ensuring the rice is well coated with the ghee or oil.
Add the water and salt to the saucepan. Bring to a boil.
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
Remove from heat and let it sit covered for another 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
