Main Ingredients
- 2 cups pinto beans dried
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin ground
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon oregano dried
- 1 teaspoon salt to taste
- 4 cups water
1. Rinse and soak the pinto beans overnight.
2. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened.
4. Add the soaked beans, water, cumin, chili powder, oregano, and salt.
5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour, or until beans are tender.
6. Adjust seasoning if needed and serve warm.
