Tamales Recipe
Traditional Mexican tamales made with masa and a savory filling.

Masa Dough
- 2 cups Masa Harina
- 1 cup Chicken Broth
- ½ cup Lard or vegetable shortening
Filling
- 2 cups Shredded Chicken
- 1 cup Red Salsa
- 12 pieces Corn Husks soaked in water
Soak the corn husks in warm water for 30 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, combine masa harina, chicken broth, and lard. Mix until smooth.
Spread a thin layer of masa dough on each corn husk.
Add a spoonful of shredded chicken and red salsa in the center of the masa.
Fold the sides of the husk and then fold the bottom up. Tie with a strip of husk if needed.
Place tamales in a steamer and steam for about 1.5 to 2 hours.
Let tamales cool slightly before serving.
